diabetes

Diabetes is a worldwide phenomenon and has been identified commonly among Filipinos and Indonesians alike. As a disease process, this has been attributed mostly to the food intake, genetics and stress among others. Through this lecture series which will be provided by a Diabetic Management trained nurse from Indonesia, it would be interesting to note how cultural practices influence the development of diabetes and how this illness is managed across culture. This lecture series will enable the students and faculty to learn transcultural nursing care practices in the perspectives of a nurse in the land of Muslims. This is the college’s way of celebrating NUTRITION MONTH as this event ends with HALAL FOOD FAIR.
