Teaching Internship
Teaching Internship is a teacher education program’s most challenging and rewarding component. It is the culminating experience in which the teaching interns transform their preparation for teaching into professional classroom practice and apply research-based teaching and learning pedagogies and instructional designs; hence, become effective teaching professionals of the 21st century.
THE UNIVERSITY TEACHING INTERNSHIP OBJECTIVES
Teaching as a profession needs much preparation. Therefore, pre-service teachers should be adequately prepared for actual teaching through teaching internship. Its objectives are:
- apply the theories, principles, and techniques learned, especially those that relate to the teaching-learning situations;
- apply research-based teaching and learning approaches and strategies which are appropriate to solve teaching-learning problems;
- document teaching-learning experiences with reflections through a portfolio.
- create a professional learning community through networking with peers and experienced professionals;
- promote collaboration between school and community through active participation in curricular and co-curricular activities;
- develop insights on the teaching-learning situations and ways of evaluating them; and
- develop personal and professional attributes and competencies of an ideal teacher.

The Office of the Teaching Internship is spearheaded by Dr. Feleeh L. Enanoza as Supervisor and Dr. Jo Ann M. Petancio as Assistant Supervisor for Academic Year 2023-2024.
