The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Argao and Community MICE, a Japan-based community organization and a CNU industry collaborator, convene to discuss the potential expansion of the Cinnamon Project in Argao town, southern Cebu.

The meeting covers initial steps for the project, such as cinnamon propagation, soil and weather assessment, and other environmental considerations.

The LGU of Argao expressed its support for the expansion following the successful establishment of the project in the municipalities of Boljoon and Alegria.

Meanwhile, Tetsuya Endo, the founder of Community MICE and industry collaborator with CNU for the Cinnamon Project, shows interest in bringing in more collaborators for the project.

In attendance at the meeting tonight are Hon. Allan Sesaldo, Municipal Mayor of Argao, along with Vip Semilla, Albert Gabuya, and Engr. Mark Anthony Agrabio. Also present are Dr. Jay Picardal, Director of the Research Institute for Tropical Biology and Pharmacological Biotechnology (RITBPB); Dr. Genara Pacana, Officer-in-Charge of the Tech/Voc National Certification (NC) Training and Assessment Center; Dr. Lelani Dapat, Director for Research, Development, and Publications; and Dr. Tizza Navarro, officer-in-charge for the Internal Audit Unit.

Also joining the meeting are the students from Fukushima Gakuin University, Rinko Kudo and Seira Kawada, who are currently engaged in immersion projects in Cebu.
