The Cebu Normal University attends the Quality Assurance Conclave for Higher Education organized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on May 13, 2024, at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila. The prestigious event is part of CHED’s weeklong celebration of its 30th year in service.

Various tertiary education leaders from across the country attended the event and tackled important topics including quality assurance, trends in education, and future industry needs. As there is an evolving landscape in higher education, CHED aimed to provide a platform for education leaders to further a collaborative discussion on the current state of higher education from different viewpoints.

Plenary sessions were organized with themes such as Global Perspectives on Quality Tertiary Higher Education, Reinventing Higher Education and Emerging Global Trends, and a panel discussion on Government-Academe Industry Upskilling: Partnership for Sustainability in Higher Education.

The University President of Cebu Normal University Dr. Daniel Ariaso, Sr., CESO II, together with the former University President Dr. Filomena Dayagbil, and the OIC Director for IZN and  concurrent chair for CTE Graduate School Dr. Janet Mananay, and College of Teacher Education (CTE) dean, Dr. Venus Cortes attended the event.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Commission on Higher Education J. Prospero E. De Vera III is expected to report to the President of the Republic of the Philippines today about the country’s higher education state.
