The extension project titled “Mentoring the Instructional Leaders,” spearheaded by Dr. Maria Nancy Quinco-Cadosales as Project Leader, with Dr. Imelda C. Montalbo and Dr. Feleeh L. Enanoza as Project Members, served as a dynamic platform for professional growth and capacity building among teachers and student leaders from the different schools in Cebu province managed by the Sisters of Daughters of St. Teresa (DST). The activity featured simultaneous webinar-workshops that addressed the diverse yet interconnected dimensions of leadership in education. Simultaneous webinar-workshops were conducted last October 24, 2025.

Group 1 engaged teachers in a session on Action Research and Evidence-Based Practice, with the theme, “Cultivating Purposeful Change Through Evidence: Strengthening Teaching and Service Through Action Research,” facilitated by Dr. Angeline Pogoy, Faculty of the College of Teacher Education. The session emphasized the power of inquiry and evidence as catalysts for instructional improvement and professional transformation. Meanwhile, Group 2 focused on student leadership development in a session, Leading with Purpose: Strengthening Study Skills and Student Leadership, themed “Empowering Student Leaders to Excel in Learning and Service through Discipline, Responsibility, and Academic Growth.” This workshop, led by Dr. Feleeh L. Enanoza, Director for Internationalization and Global Citizenship, and Dr. Crislee V. Negrido, Mentor of the Integrated Laboratory School, College of Teacher Education, Cebu Normal University, honed the leadership skills, discipline, and academic commitment of young student leaders among the DST schools in the province. The extension activity fostered a collaborative culture of mentorship, empowerment, and evidence-driven leadership, advancing the shared goal of nurturing teachers and student leaders who are purposeful, reflective, and committed to educational excellence and community transformation.
