The extension project entitled Accelerating Literacy through Minds on Wheels: A Collaborative Reading Project successfully continued its extension activities on January 30, 2026, at Labangon Elementary School in Cebu City.

The activity was spearheaded by the project leader, Dr. Rivika Alda, in collaboration with her team members, Dr. Remedios Bacus and Dr. Ethel Abao with College of Teacher Education Interns. The team facilitated reading-focused activities aimed at strengthening literacy skills among participating learners.

This extension projects hopes to achieve the following objectives:

A. Increase reading proficiency among students participating in the Catch Up Fridays and Drop Everything and Read programs. 

B. Foster a love for reading and a culture of literacy within participating schools. 

C. Enhance collaboration between higher education institutions, the Department of Education, and private companies in addressing educational challenges. 

D. Provide access to diverse reading materials through the utilization of the mobile library.
