Theme: “Thriving, Leading, and Serving in the New Normal”

The theme for this year’s celebration is anchored on the University’s response to the New Normal which is to aspire not just to survive but thrive in the midst of unprecedented changes in the educational landscape brought about by the pandemic. Cebu Normal University rises to the challenge of leadership in higher education in the service of the country and the world. In commemoration of its Foundation Day, CNU engages in conversation with its alumni who continue to carry the zeal for service and the drive for greatness in their own fields of discipline. As one family, the University reaffirms its commitment to sustain excellence and cultivate significance. The ‘normal’ may be new but Cebu Normal remains steadfast in its commitment: to thrive and excel, to lead and to serve.

THRIVING in the New Normal
As CNU reframes for the New Normal, different stakeholders congratulate the University in achieving another milestone in its history. The University uses social media to celebrate as one despite the pandemic that has distanced everyone physically from each other. The challenge to thrive in the New Normal can only be achieved by reaffirming the bond among and between its stakeholders that no pandemic can break. It is a bond forged in a unified commitment to sustain excellence and cultivate significance.

LEADING in the New Normal
The University has always fostered academic and community leadership. In celebration of its 118 years of existence, the alumni reflect on the CNU of the past and give insights on its leadership in the New Normal. In addition, the University launches the HEdConnect (Higher Education Connect) which serves as a platform that enables educators and education stakeholders to converse and share ideas, practices, and strategies to hurdle the challenges affecting education during and beyond the pandemic.

SERVING in the New Normal
Former faculty members share best practices, new teaching strategies and methodologies relevant and applicable in the New Normal. As part of the CNU Family, stakeholders show commitment and continuous support and assistance to CNU’s initiatives to hurdle the unprecedented changes in the educational landscape. Cebu Normal University rises to the challenge of leadership in higher education in the service of the country and the world.
