The College of Culture, Arts and Sports (CCAS) at Cebu Normal University is actively preparing documentary and curricular requirements for the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) applications of ten academic programs, in line with CHED policies and quality assurance efforts.

As visualized in the infographic released by the college, the COPC applications consist of a combination of new applications and re-applications, including both undergraduate and graduate degree offerings.

Programs for COPC Application:

New Applications:

  • Master of Arts in English Language

The Master of Arts in English Language (MA EL). The Master of Arts in English Language is a graduate degree vertically intended for graduates in the Bachelor of Arts in English Language and other related disciplines. As a requirement in graduate studies, the degree requires students to write their master’s thesis and publish research articles in refereed Scopus-Indexed or Web of Science/Clarivate Analytics-Indexed Journals.

  • Master of Arts in Social Science

The Master of Arts in Social Sciences (MA SS). This degree program accepts graduates from the Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences, BSED Social Studies, and social science-related degree programs such as Economics, History, Political Science, Anthropology, Sociology, Philosophy, and Humanities. As a requirement in graduate studies, the degree requires students to write their doctoral dissertation and publish research articles in refereed Scopus Indexed or Clarivate Analytics Indexed Journals.

  • Master of Arts in Philosophy

The Master of Arts in Philosophy (MA Philo). The degree accepts students who are graduates of BA Philosophy. However, this degree is not limited to accepting graduates in other related degrees in social sciences and other related disciplines. As a requirement in graduate studies, the degree requires students to write their master’s thesis and publish research articles in refereed Scopus Indexed or Clarivate Analytics Indexed Journals.

  • Doctor of Arts in Philosophy major in Filipino

Doctor of Philosophy in Filipino (PhD Filipino) (Research Track). Ang Doctor of Philosophy in Filipino ay isang programa ng Cebu Normal University sa ilalim ng Kolehiyo ng Kultura, Sining, at Isports. Ito ay isang gradwadong programa na naka-pukos sa pananaliksik sa Filipino sa iba’t ibang larang at inihahanda ang mga estudyante sa mga eskolarli at akademikong gawain. Ang programang ito ay nagbibigay-daan sa mga estuaynte na magkaroon ng mas malalim na pag-aaral sa iba’t ibang aspeto ng wika, kabilang na ang makasaysayang ebolusyon nito, mga kontekstong sosyolinggwistika, mga kilusang pampanitikan, at kontemporaryong paggamit ng teorya. Sa pamamagitan ng masusing pananaliksik at pagtatanong, ang mga estudyante ay makapag-aambag ng mga panibagong kaalaman sa linggwistika, literatura, at kultura. Ang programang ito ay hindi lamang nagpapayaman sa diskurso sa akademya, kundi, nagkakaroon din ng praktikal na aplikasyon sa patakaran sa wika, edukasyon, at pagpapaunlad ng kultura.

  • Bachelor of Science in Exercise Sports Sciences major in Fitness and Sports Management

The Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Sciences major in Fitness and Sports Management (BSESS). This four-year degree program accepts students who love to manage sports and fitness programs in various industry settings. The graduates of this program can work as Fitness and Recreational Leaders/Consultants, Sports, Fitness, and Wellness Facilities Managers, Sports, Fitness, and Recreational Events Managers, Sports Tourism Officers, and Fitness, Sports, and Recreation Entrepreneurs.

The college, under the leadership of its dean and program chairs, is conducting internal evaluations, faculty consultations, and alignment of instructional materials to meet the updated CHED standards. The initiative reflects CCAS’s commitment to program excellence and regulatory compliance as it aims to expand and strengthen its academic offerings.

Stakeholders are encouraged to support the preparatory efforts, as these applications mark a critical step in sustaining the college’s status as a leading center for culture, arts, communication, and interdisciplinary education.
