On September 5, 2025, an extension activity was conducted at Biasong Elementary School to continue the implementation of the university’s reading program. This initiative, which has been carried out for several years, is now spearheaded by Ms. Francis May Valmorida (Project Leader), with the support of Ms. Kristel Anne G. Alivio (Assistant Leader) and members Nomel Alyssa T. Andan, Mary Grace C. Cosicol, and Marjorie Hermosora.
The activity centered on the Orientation and Grouping of Readers, designed to help both pupils and teachers understand the objectives of the program. A standardized reading assessment was administered to determine the learners’ proficiency levels, after which pupils were grouped according to their reading abilities. Reading materials were then distributed to provide continued support for their growth and development.
This meaningful undertaking was made possible through the coordination of Mrs. Lourdes Goc-ong, focal person of Biasong Elementary School, together with the invaluable support of the school principal, Ms. Jeanne S. Capulan, and faculty members.
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, this project affirms the commitment to promoting inclusive, equitable, and lifelong learning opportunities for all. This day stands as another milestone in advancing literacy, strengthening partnerships, and empowering young learners toward a brighter future.
