CNU holds Mass, remembers ‘Kristine’ victims

In honor of the lives lost when severe tropical storm wreaked havoc on large parts of the country last month, Cebu Normal University conducts a Eucharistic Mass at the Idea and Knowledge Center this afternoon.

Rev. Fr. Neil Cortes, who celebrated the Mass, puts emphasis on the reality and acceptance of death, saying even Jesus faced the reality of death.

“Ang kamatayon realidad sa pagpuyo sa kalibotan. It is a painful reality apan atong dawaton.”

“Physical absence of loved ones is painful, but it reminds us of our faith in Jesus Christ amidst pain,” he says.

Attended by students, faculty members, and administrative staff, the Mass is in solidarity with the bereaved families and loved ones of those who perished due to Kristine.

November 4 is declared a Day of National Mourning by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. to remember those who died during the onslaught of STS Kristine from October 21 to 25.
