𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗝𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗲𝗯𝘂: 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗧𝗲𝘁𝘀𝘂𝘆𝗮 𝗘𝗻𝗱𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀-𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗡𝗨
The Cebu Normal University (CNU) welcomed distinguished guests from Aomori Public University, Japan on September 1-5, 2024. Led by Prof. Tetsuya Endo, President of the Community MICE, and accompanied by two students, Seira and Rinko, the delegation engaged in a series of academic and cultural activities aimed at fostering collaboration and cultural exchange.
The visit, part of CNU’s broader internationalization efforts, featured diverse activities, including interactions with CNU students, discussions on innovative projects, and immersive tours of Cebu’s historical and cultural landmarks. Among the highlights of their visit was a focus on the Cinnamon project, which explores innovative cross-cultural collaborations between Japan and the Philippines.
CNU extends its gratitude to Prof. Endo and his students for their meaningful participation and contributions, paving the way for deeper collaboration between Aomori Public University and CNU in the future.
Campus Tour by the Internationalization Ambassadors Organization (IAO): The Japanese students, Seira and Rinko, were welcomed by CNU’s Internationalization Ambassadors Organization (IAO) for a guided campus tour. The tour provided a vibrant introduction to university life, highlighting CNU’s rich academic history, student programs, and key facilities.
𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁:
A meeting was held between Prof. Tetsuya Endo, and CNU officials, including Directors Jay Picardal, Genara Pacana, and Jollibee Aharul. The discussion centered on the ongoing Cinnamon project, an innovative collaboration aimed at promoting cultural and academic exchanges between Japan and the Philippines. The meeting also explored potential joint initiatives in innovation and other research opportunities.
𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗡𝗨 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀:
As part of their cultural immersion, Prof. Endo and his students were taken on a city tour of Cebu, joined by Director Tizza Marie Navarro and Director Lelani Dapat. The tour included visits to iconic landmarks such as the Basilica del Santo Niño, where they learned about Cebu’s religious heritage, and the Temple of Leah, a testament to Cebu’s rich cultural history.
𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗡𝗨 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗲:
One of the memorable highlights of the visit was an intimate audience with the CNU Chorale, renowned for their captivating performances. Prof. Endo, Seira, and Rinko were treated to a special musical presentation, showcasing the talents of CNU’s chorale students and celebrating Filipino musical artistry.
𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲:
Prof. Tetsuya Endo also attended the Global Connect Lecture Series, a platform for international experts to share knowledge and insights on global topics. His participation added an international dimension to the lecture, and his presence fostered an engaging exchange of ideas.
