LOOK | CNU, TESDA conclude extension project, 50 beneficiaries receive livelihood equipment
The Cebu Normal University (CNU) Extension Services, in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), conclude the Pag-Amuma extension project at the Tandang Sora Hall this morning.
The project, Pag-Amuma or Pagtinabangay ni Mama ug Papa, aims to capacitate parents in Brgy. Kaputatan Norte in Medellin, Cebu. The beneficiaries also received National Certification (NC) II in Bread and Pastry Making after undergoing series of trainings and workshops.
University President Dr. Daniel Ariaso, in his opening remarks, emphasized the importance of livelihood programs in communities. He also expressed interest in helping beneficiaries establish a cooperative.
“Himuon nato nga modelo inyong Brgy. Magtukod ta og kooperatiba,” he said.
He further informed beneficiaries that he will support them by allocating a space in the newly-built CNU Medellin building, waiving the lease for a period of three years.
Moreover, Extension Services Director Dr. Laarne Pontillas reminded beneficiaries on the bigger challenge ahead of them which is the production.
“Di ni sya katapusan sa proyekto sa Pag-Amuma, sinugdanan pa lang kini. A new chapter is waiting for you: production,” she said.
Furthermore, Nancy Dumaguet, one of the 50 beneficiaries, expressed her gratitude for the learning and livelihood opportunity.
“Dako gyud kaayo ni’ng tabang namo. Kami ang pinaka-blessed nga barangay kay wa gyud mi pasagdi sa CNU,” she expressed.
The culminating activity was also attended by the Vice President for Research, Publication, Innovation, Commercialization, and Extension (RPICE), along with Community Extension Project Leader Dr. Evelyn Gimarino and former Technical Vocational (TECHVOC) Director Dr. Genara Pacana.
