CNU participates in the World Education Expo 2026
Cebu Normal University supported and actively participated in the World Education Expo (WEE), held on February 5, 2026, at the Quest Hotel and Conference Centre in Cebu. The international expo was organized by MSW Global and brought together higher education institutions from Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Russia, France, and the Philippines.
Dr. Janet A. Mananay, Vice President for Special Needs, Early Childhood Education, Internationalization, and Lifelong Learning, served as a panelist in the discussion titled, “Building Sustainable Education Ecosystems: Policy, Innovation, and International Cooperation.” The panel explored the role of higher education institutions in ASEAN integration, the development of sustainable education ecosystems in collaboration with ASEAN member-states, and best practices and concrete actions in internationalization.
During the discussion, Dr. Mananay, together with fellow panelist Prof. Nina Yulianti, Education and Culture Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Manila, shared comparative insights on the educational systems of the Philippines and Indonesia. Dr. Mananay emphasized the critical role of effective information dissemination in creasing student and faculty awareness of internationalization initiatives and opportunities for outbound mobility. She also challenged the idea of students becoming Youtubers and having an ethical, ASEAN-conscious online presence.
Dr. Mananay also engaged in an exchange of internationalization best practices with Mr. Rogie Nichole M. Aquino, Director of the International Affairs Department of the University of the Visayas. Both are elected leaders of the Association of International Relations Officers (AIRO) Region VII.
The expo also featured institutional presentations and exhibit booths in the afternoon session, providing students and representatives from various higher education institutions opportunities for networking, information exchange, and exploration of international academic pathways.
