Cebu Normal University plans to partner with the Coastal Resources and Ecotourism Research, Development and Extension Center (CRERDEC) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau (DENR-ERDB) for ecotourism research.

 

They are eyeing to conduct studies on the carrying capacity assessment and implementation in selected ecotourism sites in Cebu. This is to ensure the sustainability of the ecotourism industry, especially Cebu being one of the leading ecotourism sites in the country.

 

CNU representatives present in the meeting are Dr. Jay Picardal (Director, RITBPB), Dr. Filipina Sotto (Adjunct Professor, CCAIS), Dr. Mariae Khrisna Arreza (Director, Gender and Development), Jake Joshua Garces (Director, ESD and OIC Head, National Greening Program), Mr. Rhoniel Ryan Ymbong (Director, Research Ethics Office), Dr. Joje Mar Sanchez (Technical Staff, IPOPHIL and Chair, CTE Graduate Studies), Rex Samuel Abao (Biology Faculty, CCAIS), and Russel Christine Corcino (Biology Faculty, CCAIS).
