Carren Joy G. De Pedro-Derasin

Carren Joy G. De Pedro-Derasin holds the position of Instructor III in the Department of International Languages. She is an educator whose career has been shaped by a strong foundation in English language education. She earned her Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English from Cebu Normal University. At the same university, she continued her academic journey with a Master of Arts in Education major in English Language Teaching. Currently, she is pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy in English Language at the University of San Jose-Recoletos. Beyond her teaching duties, she serves as the Internationalization Chair for the College of Culture, Arts, and Sports, where she spearheads initiatives that connect the college to international academic communities, fostering collaborations, exchange programs, and global learning opportunities. Simultaneously, she is a member of the University’s Ethics Review Committee, where she helps ensure the integrity and ethical conduct of research practices within the institution. She consistently engages in research and faculty development pursuits, actively participating in conferences, training workshops, and capacity-building programs related to language education and research ethics. Her involvement includes presenting at and attending various local and international academic gatherings.
