Jollibee Angchangco-Aharul, LPT, MAT, EdD

Dr. Jollibee A. Aharul is currently an Associate Professor V at Cebu Normal University (CNU). She is a committed educator, researcher, and university administrator, presently serving as the Director of the Student Affairs and Development Office and Director of the Innovation, Intellectual Property, and Commercialization Office. Since joining CNU in June 2017, she has played a vital role in shaping both academic programs and student development initiatives at the university.

She is presently pursuing her second doctorate degree, a Doctor of Philosophy in English Language Studies at the University of the Philippines, Diliman. She previously earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Management and a Master of Arts in Teaching English Language and Literature. Her strong academic background has profoundly informed her approach to teaching, leadership, and research, particularly in the fields of language and education.

Dr. Aharul’s areas of specialization include English language teaching, academic writing, digital communication, discourse analysis, child language development, organizational communication, qualitative research, and educational leadership. At present, she has authored a total of eight academic works, published in various international journals, which have collectively garnered over 3,000 reads and a growing number of citations. Her notable scholarly articles, published in Scopus-indexed and ASEAN Citation-Indexed journals, include Social Media Influenced Lexicons: A Child’s Vocabulary Production in Talk-In Interactions (2023) and Urban Skywalk as a Communication Space for Promoting Mental Health: A Linguistic Landscape Analysis (2022). She Aharul regularly presents her research at both local and international conferences, where she has earned recognition as Outstanding Presenter and recipient of the Best Research Paper Award.

In addition to her journal articles, she has authored eight copyrighted books and educational modules officially deposited in both the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) and the National Library of the Philippines (NLP). Demonstrating her innovation in educational tools, she has successfully generated and registered a Utility Model with IPOPHL for her invention titled Rectangular Board Game for Advancing Social Communicative Competence.

Her academic expertise is complemented by her active engagement in extension services. She has participated in notable outreach projects, which include programs in English language competency for out of school youth and stay-at-home parents, literary engagement activities for senior citizens, stage play and drama for community members, and leadership and communication training for senior high school students, reflecting her strong commitment to community involvement.

As an academic leader, she was also designated as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Board and University Secretary and once led the Office of Innovations and Intellectual Property. Under her leadership, CNU received the Gold Cluster Award in under six months—a testament to her effective and visionary management.

Passionate and dedicated in her teaching career, Dr. Aharul—consistently evaluated as an Outstanding Professor at Cebu Normal University, continues to make meaningful contributions to academic scholarship, innovation, and student-centered institutional policies.
