JOSEPH SOL T. GALLEON

JOSEPH SOL T. GALLEON is a Licensed Professional English- Literature Teacher. He holds the following degrees: Doctor of Education in Educational Management, Doctor of Arts in Literature and Communication, Master in special education in Mental Retardation in Cebu Normal University, Master in Science Teaching major in Educational Technology from University of Cebu-Main Campus, and Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and English-Literature at San Carlos Seminary College, Mabolo, Cebu City. He was one of the recipients of the CHED Scholarship program titled Certificate Course in Executive Doctorate for Educational Leadership (EDEL-FLAME) at the Development Academy of the Philippines, Pasig City. At present, he is a fulltime faculty of the College of Culture, Arts and Sports under the Department of Literature and International Studies. Formerly, he was the designated OIC- Dean of the College of Teacher Education, Campus Director of CNU-Balamban, Director for External Affairs and Partnerships, Coordinator for Cultural Affairs, Director of the Alumni Affairs, Campus Director of CNU-Medellin Campus, Presidential Assistant for Planning and Development, Presidential Assistant for Training, Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Program Chair of the English Studies and Other Languages-College of Arts and Sciences. He teaches English Language/Educational Research, Literary Translation, Literary Appreciation and Criticism, African American Literature in the undergraduate studies. In the Graduate Studies, he teaches Educational Management and Special Education major subjects. He is an adviser and a member of the panel of examiners for the Graduate Thesis and Dissertations in Educational Management and Special Education. His advocacies include Environment Protection and Sustainability, being a member of the Green Ambassadors of the Philippines; the education and protection of the rights of children with special needs, being a Graduate Studies’ faculty and the former coordinator for the Regional training of DepEd teachers assigned to handle children with special needs in their various schools in regions 6, 7, and 8. His research niches include educational management, special education, and English language and literature education. His learning experiences in the Executive Doctorate for Educational Leadership under Professor Eduardo Morato contributed so much to his competencies in school management and leadership. His certificate in Disaster Risk Reduction Management in the University of the Philippines in Diliman added to his advocacy on disaster risk management. As an artist, he is an experienced coach and judge to various culture and arts activities. His hobbies of singing, creative writing, stage play directing, and gardening.
