CNU IZN Office Holds Strategic Planning Event to Revitalize Global Partnerships

Cebu Normal University (CNU) IZN office hosted a strategic planning event titled Revitalizing Global Partnerships: Engaging Colleges and External Campuses for Collaborative Opportunities on November 18-19, 2024, at the LRC Conference Hall, 3rd floor, Library Building. This interactive initiative aimed to explore collaborative opportunities with CNU’s esteemed international partners, culminating in the development of revitalization plans per college, with a focus on cross-border mobility.

The event served as a vital component of the Office for Internationalization’s strategic planning efforts, aligning with the university’s goals of fostering global collaboration. It opened with an insightful overview of CMO 55, series of 2016, by Dr. Janet Mananay, Director for Internationalization. She emphasized that internationalization is both a process and a strategy requiring sustained efforts. “It takes time to build relationships, and it is a never-ending process. The key is to continue moving and keep moving,” she remarked. Dr. Mananay also highlighted the university’s strategic direction under the I-SHINE framework, which stands for Internationalization, Strategic Partnership, Holistic Approach and Development, Innovations in Education and University Programs, Network Expansion, and Excellence in Research, Extension, Publication, SDGs, and Global Citizenship.

CNU President Dr. Daniel Ariaso Sr. delivered an inspirational message, encouraging deans, directors, and program chairs to embrace internationalization boldly. “Do not be afraid,” he urged, offering practical tips for scaling new heights in global collaboration.

This strategic planning event underscored CNU’s commitment to fostering dynamic partnerships and advancing cross-border mobility, ensuring that the university remains at the forefront of international education and engagement.
