Cebu Normal University (CNU) has proudly joined the National Planning and Roadmap Development of Global Citizenship Education (GCED) under the auspices of the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) and UNESCO. This pivotal event marks a significant step forward in the university’s commitment to fostering global citizenship and sustainable development through education.
CNU’s involvement in this national initiative is spearheaded by Dr. Janet A. Mananay, the Director for Internationalization at the university and the Region 7 focal person for GCED. Dr. Mananay’s leadership and capability in international education and global citizenship have positioned her as a key representative in this important endeavor.
The National Planning and Roadmap Development held on July 15-16 at Lucky Chinatown Hotel Manila, brings together educational leaders, internationalization directors, and experts from across the country to strategize and formulate comprehensive plans for the implementation of GCED. The initiative aims to integrate global citizenship concepts into the educational framework, promoting values such as peace, tolerance, and sustainable development among Filipino students.
