Faculty members of the Cebu Normal University (CNU) College of Teacher Education (CTE) were convened to review the proposed reframing of the pre-service teacher education curriculum.

Led by CTE Dean Dr. Michelle Olvido, the meeting built on the discussions during the August 25 co-design workshop between CNU CTE and the Teacher Education Council (TEC), which explored strategic areas for strengthening teacher education.
The workshop covered the reframed pre-service teacher education curriculum, research, graduate teacher education, and quality assurance systems, highlighting the need for teacher education programs to remain responsive to the evolving needs of learners and communities across the region.

During the October 28 meeting at Tandang Sora Hall, CNU CTE faculty revisited the proposed curriculum to assess how its courses can develop the essential competencies of pre-service teachers, particularly in specialized areas, while ensuring alignment with program outcomes and the standards of the teaching profession.
The discussions also examined the proposed curriculum’s flexibility in accommodating alternative and specialized pathways to equip future educators with relevant competencies and expand their opportunities for professional practice and employment.
Through this initiative, CNU CTE continues to strengthen its teacher education programs to better prepare future educators for the evolving demands of the profession. Padayon, CNU! #AlwaysCrimsonAndGold2026 #SDG4QualityEducation
