The Cebu Normal University (CNU), through its College of Teacher Education, participated in the #GurongMayKalidad: Teacher Education Roadmap 2035 Caravan held at Saint Louis University in Baguio City on September 22–25, 2026.
Organized by the Teacher Education Council (TEC) and SLU, the event brought together education stakeholders in the country to advance a shared national direction for quality teacher education.
Representing CNU were Dr. Michelle Mae Olvido, dean of the College of Teacher Education, and Dr. Catalina Canasa, Quality Assurance chair of the College of Teacher Education.
Their participation reflected CNU’s responsibility as one of the country’s TEC-designated Regional Centers of Excellence to contribute to teacher education reform.

The workshops provided opportunities to examine emerging directions in teacher preparation, professional development, and educational leadership.
Key sessions addressed the reframed pre-service teacher education curriculum, standards for future-ready teachers and education leaders, and teacher growth and leadership in Southeast Asia. These discussions offered relevant insights for CNU’s curriculum review and institutional planning.

Beyond the workshops, the CNU delegates visited educational exhibits, interacted with other stakeholders, and added their messages to the Caravan’s commitment wall. Their participation underscored the college’s continuing responsibility to learn with other institutions, share its perspectives, and contribute to improving teacher education in the country.
Padayon, CNU!
