On September 19, 2025, Mt. Manunggal Nature Treks and Tours, in partnership with volunteer nurses from Cebu Normal University Main Campus, successfully held a training activity at Brgy. Sunog, Balamban titled “First Response Ready: Equipping Tour Guides at Mt. Manunggal, Balamban, Cebu for Emergency Action.” Volunteer nurses Lloyd Vincent Derasin, Esperidion Corvera Jr., and Alberich Machacon, who also serve as faculty members of the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences at Cebu Normal University Main Campus, facilitated the training.

The sessions covered first aid fundamentals, principles of safety, and the crucial roles of responders. They also discussed how to manage common trauma emergencies such as cuts, sprains, and fractures, addressed medical emergencies, introduced rescue and evacuation basics, and emphasized safety protocols for tour guides. To make the learning more meaningful, the training featured interactive demonstrations and hands-on practice, particularly on CPR application.

The tour guides actively participated in the exercises, and each one received individual guidance while performing the activities. The activity culminated with the posting of pledges on the Commitment Wall, where tour guides expressed their dedication to upholding safety and readiness in their service. This symbolic act highlighted not only their willingness to learn but also their commitment to ensuring a safe and secure experience for every visitor at Mt. Manunggal.
