Cebu Normal University ranks Over-all 4th Runner Up in the recently concluded Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) National Culture and the Arts Festival participated by different schools and colleges across the country. The event was held on April 23-25, 2024 at the Philippine Normal University.

The university’s outstanding performance at the festival was highlighted by its impressive array of victories. Among the notable achievements, CNU claimed the coveted title of Champion in the Standard Choir category, delivering a performance that captivated audiences and judges alike. Led by the guidance of Coach Prof. Darlane Yap and Assistant Coach Prof. Jovanni Villacura, the Standard Choir comprised a talented ensemble of individuals, including Ted Christian Abapo, Kharl Abapo, Jeah Armamento, Ma. Khasila Bulan, Mara Ella Ferlen Campo, Denisse Kharl Candia, Danicaross Dela Cerna, Shiela Mae De Los Arcos, Roy Khalil Granada, Joel Japeth Guion, Rolenda Matiae, Leonil Festejo, Sean Andrex Martinez, Anjaylou Monisit, Hans Isac Bustillo, Kirsten Jed Therese Orbeta, Jan Dominique Pasaol, Dee Em Salon, Krisha Ira Mae Sepe, Airon Jay Sentillas, and Earl Lope Yabao.

In addition to its triumph in the Standard Choir category, CNU excelled in other categories, showcasing its versatility and talent across various art forms. The university secured the top spot in the Radio Drama category, earning the title of Champion. The exceptional performance and execution was brought to life by a dedicated and talented team of performers, including Sarah Jane Balaba, Jingki Requinto, Andrian Bilbao, Francis Tisha Berdin, and Loenn Vincent Ibo, under the mentorship of Coach Dr. Joseph Elvir Tubilan and Assistant Coach Dr. Dulce Anlagan.

Furthermore, CNU demonstrated its musical prowess by clinching several top spots in instrumental and vocal categories. The university’s Vocal Duet, consisting of Ishi Nadine Go and Nicole Ira Carcasona, secured a place in the Top 8 under the guidance of Coach Dr. Lovely Tipo and Assistant Coach Prof. Rhona Nowuiao. Additionally, CNU achieved notable rankings in instrumental categories, with John William Pastor placing 6th in Classical Guitar, Lord Lyrzand Padua earning 5th place in Violin, and Fritz Adrielle Vic Arevalo securing 3rd place in Banduria. These exceptional performances underscored CNU’s commitment to excellence and its dedication to promoting the arts.
