The Cebu Normal University Center for Research and Development (CRD) conducted a debriefing session for the field enumerators who carried out the Needs Assessment Survey for the establishment of an external campus in Catmon. The debriefing, attended by enumerators from the Municipalities of Catmon, Borbon, Sogod, Carmen, and the City of Danao, was held on April 23, 2024.

The needs assessment survey was conducted to gain a comprehensive understanding of the community’s needs, specifically in the Municipality of Catmon and neighboring LGUs. 

Meanwhile, twelve Basic Sector Representatives from the aforementioned municipalities and city also attended the Focus Group Discussions (FGD) of Cebu Normal University earlier today. The 12 basic sectors include: Farmers and Landless Rural Workers, Fisherfolks, Workers in Formal Labor and Migrant Workers, Workers in the Informal Sector, Women, Children (represented by a Parent), Youth and Students, Senior Citizens, Persons with Disabilities, Victims of Disasters and Calamities, Non-Government Organizations, and Cooperatives. 

The Focus Group Discussion is a methodological approach that engage stakeholders across various basic sectors in order to capture a comprehensive range of perspectives, ensuring that the proposed CNU external campus aligns with the needs of the Municipality of Catmon and other adjacent LGUs.

The Center for Research and Development, led by Dr. Dexter Ontoy, Education Program Specialist II of Cebu Normal University, along with facilitators for the Focus Group Discussions (FGD), also made a Courtesy Call to Dr. Avis Ginoo-Monleon, Municipal Mayor of the Municipality of Catmon on April 23.
