Cebu Normal University (CNU) solidified its commitment to academic excellence by signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Romblon State University (RSU) on March 19, 2024.  The two universities have agreed to promote educational collaboration and enhance technical expertise exchange.

CNU’s President, Dr. Daniel Ariaso and RSU’s President Dr. Merian Catajay-Mani are in agreement that the two institutions shall promote exchange programs for students, scholars, professors, lecturers, and researchers for a given period to further enhance the two institution’s best practices particularly on smart campus systems and operations.

Recognizing the importance of multidisciplinary research, both institutions also vow to pursue collaborative opportunities through various platforms such as conferences, workshops, symposia, and short visits. Joint initiatives in curriculum development and educational program creation are also on the agenda, ensuring students have access to the most relevant and impactful courses for their academic pursuits.

In a bid to establish sustainable, long-term partnerships, CNU and RSU have also pledged mutual support in various areas including access to facilities, permits, medical emergencies, and accommodation arrangements during short visits and exchange programs. The commitment underscores the shared vision of both universities to create an environment conducive to academic growth and advancement.

The agreement sealed by Cebu Normal University is one of the institution’s efforts to strengthen its academic and research programs that would also contribute to the society in line with the Sustainable Development Goals. As a multidisciplinary research institution, CNU remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering academic collaboration across sectors and institutions, thereby enriching the university’s programs and education practices.

The signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between Cebu Normal University and Romblon State University marks the beginning of further areas of collaboration in academia, promising mutual benefits and enriching experiences for both institutions and their stakeholders.

The signing of the Memorandum of Agreement was also attended by Dr. Joseph Elvir Tubilan, Vice-President for Administration, Finance and External Affairs for Cebu Normal University together with RSU Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Tomas Faminial, Chief Administrative Officer Atty. Glenn Niño Sartillo, and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Emelyn Montoya.
