#CNUPride | CNU-VSMMC COM honored for helping save lives
 
Cebu Normal University Visayas Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC)-College of Medicine (COM) is recognized for its invaluable contributions to saving lives during VSMMC’s tribute activity this afternoon.
 
CNU is one of VSMMC’s educational institution partners in organizing the Mobile Blood Donation activities in 2023, which “played a vital role in saving lives of countless patients.”
 
“…for your exceptional dedication and remarkable contribution towards the achievement of safe and quality blood supply for our community,” reads the citation of the certificate of appreciation.
Medical students Marc Jebrick Ilustrisimo and Kimberly Camoro-Da Silva representing the COM Student Council of 2023 receive the certificate during the Adlaw Pasalamat sa Dugong Halad, a tribute to blood donors and partners, held at a hotel in Cebu City.
 
Accompanying them are CNU-VSMMC COM Dean Dr. Ma. Socorro Manaloto and IFMSU and RDP Director Dr. Lelani Dapat on behalf of CNU President Dr. Daniel Ariaso, Sr.
 
VSMMC Chief of Hospital Dr. Gerardo Aquino Jr. thanks the partners and donors, whom he called the “silent and unsung” heroes, for being the “lifeblood of our community.”
 
“It is your donations that make our hospitals have the lifeline to save lives everyday.
 
It ushers hope, healing and recovery. Simple act yet with profound love that ensures timely and effective care to patient in need,” says Dr. Aquino.
 
The donations did not only ushered the creation of blood bank, but Dr. Aquino says also built a “reservoir of hope.”
 
“You have given a precious gift and that is to save lives. You are our beacon of hope and healing. You are true champions of life and we celebrate you today and always,” he adds.
