Cebu Normal University proudly clinched the overall 3rd spot at the 1st National Inter-collegiate Arnis Competition held at Cordillera Career Development College and Easter College in Baguio City, Benguet, on March 2-3, 2024 respectively.

The prestigious sports event, hosted by the Philippine Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation (PEKAF) and Higher Education Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation (HEEKA), was participated by diverse 15 esteemed public and private universities and colleges across the Philippines.

The CNU Arnis Team bagged a total of seven medals across various categories, showcasing their skills and prowess:

Gold Medalists:

Crystal Jill Bowman – Padded Stick 48 kg Weight Category

Rodrigo EFe – Live Stick Feather Weight Category

Kurt John Cristobal – Live Stick Light Weight Category

Silver Medalists:

Kurt John Cristobal – Padded Stick Category

Franz clement Guinuo  – Bantam Weight Padded Stick Category

Bronze Medalists:

Bridgette Teves – Live Stick Category

Marina Narvios – Live Stick Category

The exceptional performance of athletes reflects CNU’s unwavering commitment not only to academic excellence but also to fostering a culture of sportsmanship and athletic achievement.

The Office for Cultural and Sports Development led by Director Dr. Lito Diones has been proactive in engaging students to participate in different sports and cultural activities for both inside and outside the campus.

The players for the arnis competition was coached by Mrs. Dara Hill Medillo, Mr. Jude Gelig, and Mr Jorjie Nepangue.
