A resounding success marked the recently concluded Regional Assembly for Official Correspondence in the province of Bohol on November 22-23, 2024. Spearheaded by Dr. Lita A. Bacalla, Director of the Sentro ng Wika at Kultura (Center for Language and Culture) at Cebu Normal University, the event brought together educators Elvin Ruiz and Carreon Joy Derasin in collaboration with the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (Commission on the Filipino Language). Notable figures such as Dr. Sheilee Vega, G. Jomar Caňega, Rene Roy Cagalingan, and G. Sir John Torralba imparted invaluable knowledge and information during the seminar. This initiative received support from Bohol Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado and garnered endorsement from the Chairman of the Commission on the Filipino Language, Dr. Arthur P. Casanova.
The participation extended beyond the academic realm, as representatives from LGUs including Sugbo Minglanilla, Naga, and Bohol’s local governments from Valencia, Anda, Tagbilaran, Getafe, alongside personnel from the Bohol Provincial Capitol actively engaged in the proceedings. Dr. Hope Yu, Commissioner for the Cebuano Language, and Dr. Daniel Ariaso Sr., the esteemed leader of Cebu Normal University, also conveyed their messages of support and encouragement.
