Dr. Niña Jen Ruta-Canayong

Dr. Niña Jen Ruta-Canayong is a full-fledged professor of Cebu Normal University, teaching both Literature and Languages in its College
of Arts and Sciences. Simultaneously, she is handling undergraduate and graduate studies since 2010 up until the present. She has been an
effective and productive teacher, book writer, editor, language censor, translator and thesis/dissertation adviser since 2015. She is also an active
panel member in any literary and language research studies and has been a thesis/dissertation proof reader for numerous times. She finished Doctor
of Arts in Literature and Communication in 2015 at Cebu Normal University.

She also earned her Master of Arts in Literature in 2009 and graduated as Cum Laude with the course, Bachelor of Secondary Education major in
English in 2006 at the same university. She has also published several books and research papers in the different international journals, ASEAN
indexed, SCOPUS indexed and CHED accredited journals. Her research often explores on poetic elements of literary masterpieces, themes of
character portrayal, social media influences, and the depiction of Filipino women in various narratives. She is particularly known for her comparative
analysis of literary works and her studies on the impact of social media on teenagers.

Furthermore, she is a National Champion Coach in Storytelling, having won in both 2015 and 2016. Currently, she continues to update
herself professionally by actively engaging in trainings and workshops related to her field of interests.
