John Rey L. Ybañez, LPT, MA, is a current member of the General Education Department of Cebu Normal University. He was the former chairman of the Social Sciences department. He was also a former President of the Faculty Association Incorporated. He holds a rank of Associate Professor II. He is one of the founding members and at the same time a member of the Board of Trustees of the Association of Social Sciences Educators for Traditions and Treasures of the Philippines, Inc. He co-authored two books namely: Life and Works of Rizal and Readings in the Philippine History of which were published by MINDSHAPERS CO., INC and St. Andrew Publishing House respectively.
