RMU Conducts University-wide Records Management Orientation and Training

As part of its unwavering commitment to enhancing records management practices, the CNU Records Management Unit (RMU) conducts a session on “Optimizing Records Management: Orientation and Training for Accurate Records Inventory Using NAP Form 1”, at the LRC Function Room on October 16, 2024.

The training brought together Records Custodians from various university offices to equip them with essential skills for accurate and systematic records inventory. The training primarily focused on the proper completion of the National Archives of the Philippines (NAP) Form 1, a critical document for the university’s records management process.

Among the topics covered include Overview of RA 9470 and the RMU Mandate, Basic Records Management and the Roles of Records Custodians, and Records Disposition Program and Records Inventory.

The presentations were given by Records Officer I Rhodessa Gilbuena, Records Officer II Jose Alfredo Bien, and Records Officer III and Head of RMU, Mary Jhoanne De la Cruz.

The Records Management Improvement Committee (RMIC) also discussed the ongoing RMU initiatives, the BOR approval of the RMU Operations Manual, and the plans for a university-wide Records Inventory. Moreover, the committee reviewed strategies for further improving CNU’s records management processes, addressing gaps and opportunities for efficiency.

The orientation and training was also joined by the Chairperson of the RMIC and Vice President for Academic, Financial, and External Affairs (VP-AFEA) Dr. Allan Roy B. Elnar and RMIC Vice-Chairperson and CNU Main Campus Director Dr. Carlou John S. Letigio, among key administrative officials.

The ongoing efforts of RMU are part of CNU’s broader drive to streamline its records management systems, preparing the institution for technological advancements while maintaining adherence to national records management standards. This proactive approach positions the university for continued growth and modernization in the years ahead.

Padayon, CNU!
