Cebu Normal University (CNU) furthered its global engagement efforts as key representatives attended the Korean National Day celebration on October 2, 2024, at the Marco Polo Hotel in Lahug, Cebu City.
The event, hosted by the Consulate of the Republic of Korea in Cebu, was graced by diplomats from Japan, China, the Philippines, and other countries, enhancing diplomatic and cultural exchange in the region.
Dr. Janet Mananay, director for Internationalization at CNU, along with Dr. Venus Cortes, Dean of the College of Teacher Education, who represented the CNU President, Dr. Daniel Ariaso, were among the esteemed attendees.
Dr. Mananay emphasized the importance of the event in aligning with CNU’s mission of fostering international collaboration.
“Participating in this celebration allows us to strengthen ties with global partners, an essential component of our university’s strategic goals in internationalization,” she stated.
The event underscored the strong diplomatic relationships between Korea and the Philippines and featured speeches from various diplomats, CNU Chorale performances, and networking opportunities.
CNU’s participation in such event highlighted the university’s commitment to global engagement and expressed gratitude for the platform to build international partnerships that could benefit both faculty and students and demonstrates its ongoing dedication to cultivating intercultural understanding and expanding its global reach in education, research, and cultural exchange.
As Cebu continues to play a role in fostering international dialogues, CNU remains at the forefront, aiming to broaden its network and elevate its global standing.
